Hotone Ampero II Captures

The Ampero II series: Ampero II, Ampero II Stage and Ampero II Stomp. These units support Hotone's capture format (Sound Clone, which replaced the older Tone Catch) as well as NAM A2 captures.

Yes. The Ampero II series loads Neural Amp Modeler captures, including the new NAM A2 format. A2 is the latest NAM standard, with better accuracy and lower CPU use, which makes it a great fit for the Ampero.

That opens up our full NAM guitar and NAM bass catalogs, including all our A2 releases. Update your Ampero II firmware and editor to the latest version to load A2 files.

DI capture packs are amp only, so you pair them with the Ampero's cab sims, your own IRs or a real guitar cab. Full rig packs include the amp and cabinet sound, ready for headphones, monitors or a PA. Complete packs give you both at a lower price than buying them separately.

Connect your Ampero II to your computer with USB and open Hotone's free Ampero II editor. Import the capture files and any IRs first, so they are on the unit when you load the presets.

Then import the presets by dragging the .prst files into the library in the editor, or right click a preset slot and choose Import Patch. If a preset loads without its capture or IR, check that the files were imported and assigned to the right blocks.

Either works on the Ampero II series. Older Tone Catch files (.tone) are converted automatically to the newer Sound Clone format (.clo) when you import them, so you do not need to do anything extra.

Yes. For the front of a guitar amp or a power amp into a real cab, use the DI captures without a cab block. For headphones, FRFR speakers, monitors or a PA, use the full rig captures, or DI captures with a cab or IR.

We recommend updating your Ampero II and the editor to the latest versions before importing. This gives you the current Sound Clone format and NAM A2 support.
