Kemper Profiles: Common Questions
Which Kemper models do these profiles work on?
All of them: Profiler Head, Rack, Stage and Player, including the MK 2 and powered versions. The Kemper Player cannot create its own profiles, but it loads and plays ours just like any other Kemper.
How do I import the profiles?
The easiest way is Rig Manager, Kemper's free editor. Connect your Kemper with USB, drag the .kipr files into your Local Library, then drag them onto your device. You can also copy the files to a USB stick and import them directly on the unit.
Do I need to tweak the profiles before playing?
No. Every profile comes with mix ready amp and cabinet settings, so you can start playing right away. Add your own effects on top, and adjust gain and output level to suit your guitar and pickups.
What is the difference between regular packs and DI Capture packs?
Regular packs include the full amp and cabinet sound. DI Capture packs are amp only, with no cabinet, so you can pair them with your own impulse responses or run them into a real guitar cab. Need cabs? Browse our impulse responses.
Will the profiles sound right with my speakers?
The profiles are built for full range playback: studio monitors, FRFR speakers, headphones or direct to a PA.
Running into a guitar cab or the front of a guitar amp? Switch off the Cabinet module (or use a DI Capture pack) so you are not doubling up on speaker simulation.
Which OS version do I need?
We recommend updating your Kemper to the latest Profiler OS before importing. It keeps Rig Manager and your unit in sync and gives you the newest effects.
