ToneX Bass Profiles: Common Questions
Which ToneX devices do these bass profiles work on?
All of them. The captures work in the ToneX software on Mac and PC (standalone and plugin) and on every ToneX hardware unit, including ToneX Pedal, ToneX One and ToneX Plug.
How do I import ToneX bass profiles?
Open the ToneX app on your computer and drag the .txp files into your library, or use the Import option. To use them on hardware, connect your pedal with USB and drag the captures from your library onto a preset slot.
Which pack should I start with?
It depends on your style. For modern, aggressive and growling tones, start with the Obsidian Cryptogram packs, which cover bass drive pedals, preamps and amps. For classic rock punch and huge low end, go AMPG. For warm, vintage character, try FNDR or Mandarin. Use the Tone Character and Genre filters above to narrow it down.

Do they work with 5 and 6 string basses and low tunings?
Yes. The captures work with any bass, any number of strings and any tuning. With a low B or drop tunings, you may want to tighten the lowest frequencies slightly with the EQ so the low end stays focused in a mix.
Do I need to tweak the profiles before playing?
No. Every capture is set up with mix ready amp and cabinet settings, so you can start playing right away. Adjust gain, EQ and output level to suit your bass and pickups.
Can I use them with a bass cab or live rig?
Yes. The captures are built for full range playback: studio monitors, FRFR speakers, headphones or direct to a PA or front of house.
Running into a real bass cab? Switch off the cabinet in ToneX so you are not doubling up on speaker simulation.
Which software and firmware version do I need?
We recommend updating the ToneX app and your pedal's firmware to the latest versions before importing. This keeps your library and hardware in sync and avoids import errors.
