FAQ
Serum Presets: Common Questions
What do I need to use these presets?
You need Xfer Serum, sold separately by Xfer Records. The presets load in Serum in any DAW on Mac or PC.
Do they work in Serum 2?
Yes. Serum 2 loads presets made for the original Serum, so these presets work in both versions.
How do I install the presets?
In Serum, open the menu and choose "Show Serum Presets folder". Copy the preset files from your download into the User folder inside Presets, then rescan or reopen Serum. The presets appear in the browser, ready to load. You can also drag a single preset file straight onto the Serum window.
What are the Guitar Helper presets?
Synth layers built to sit underneath distorted rhythm guitars, a production trick used in modern prog and metal to make guitars sound bigger and fuller. Play the same riff with a Guitar Helper preset, blend it under your guitars, and filter the highs for a natural sound or keep them for a more electronic edge.
What is in the Progressive Metal pack?
25 presets by producer Ingolf Sebastian, built for modern progressive metal: ambient pads, crystalline plucks, arpeggios, bass and leads. They sound great out of the box and are easy to tweak.
Can I use them in commercial releases?
Yes. Use the sounds in your own music and releases. You may not resell or share the preset files themselves.
Can I get guitar and drum sounds to match?
Yes. Pair your synths with our NAM captures for guitar tone in any DAW, Superior Drummer 3 presets for finished drums, and our Logic Pro mix templates to tie it all together.
How does Buy 3 Get 1 Free work?
Add any 4 products to your cart and the cheapest one is deducted automatically at checkout. It works across the whole store, so you can combine Serum presets with guitar tones, drums or templates. You can also sign up to our newsletter for 30% off your first order.
I lost my download link. What do I do?
We recommend downloading your files straight after purchase and keeping a backup. If your link has expired or the email never arrived, check your spam folder first, then email support@komposition101.com with your order number and we will sort it out.
