FAQ
SD3 Drum Templates: Common Questions
What do I need to use these templates?
You need Toontrack Superior Drummer 3, sold separately by Toontrack. The templates are presets for SD3, so they load your kit, mix, processing and routing in one click. Check each product page for any SDX expansions a kit uses.
Do they work with EZdrummer?
No. These templates are built for Superior Drummer 3 and use its mixer and processing, which EZdrummer does not have. If you own EZdrummer, look at the packs with one shots included (see below).
How do I load a template?
Open Superior Drummer 3 standalone or as a plugin in your DAW, open the preset menu and load the preset file from your download. Everything loads at once: kit pieces, mixer settings, effects and routing. Save it as a user preset to find it quickly next time.
What does "One Shots Included" mean?
Packs with one shots also include individual drum hits as WAV samples, processed with the same mix. You can load them into any sampler or drum replacement tool, so you can use the sound even outside Superior Drummer 3. Use the One Shots Included filter above to find them.
Do I need to mix the drums myself?
No. Every template is mixed and processed to sit in a finished production straight away. You can still tweak anything inside SD3 if you want to fine tune the sound to your song.
Which kit should I choose?
Pick by genre. Metal and Metalcore kits are tight and punchy for fast double kick work. Rock kits are big and open. The Pop Punk kit is bright and snappy. Not sure? The All Round Kit covers most styles, and the Colossal Power Rock Pack and Modern Drum Essentials give you several kits at a lower price.
Can I get guitar and mix tones to match?
Yes. Pair your drums with our mix templates for a finished production, our NAM captures for guitar tone in any DAW, and our impulse responses for mix ready cabs.

I lost my download link. What do I do?
